The world's first transgender principal is Manabi Bandyopadhyay.She is a professor and a poet who underwent a sex change operation in
the year 2003. She hails from Naihati, a small town in West Bengal. She
started a group for Bengali transsexuals, and edits their magazine. She
has written a bestselling novel, "Endless Bondage", about hijras India,
probably the world, will get its first transgender college principal
when Manabi Bandopadhyay takes charge of Krishnagar Women's College in
West Bengal on June 9. Manabi is currently associate professor in Bengali at Vivekananda Satobarshiki Mahavidyalaya. India,probably,the world is proud of her.
